Anyway, I mentioned in my recap about my transferring to UP Diliman's Landscape Architecture. Here's a typical making-new-friends conversation: "Hi! I'm "I'm Ouchie" "Ah. So, what course are you in?" "Um, Landscape Architecture." "Masters ka na ba?" (Hindi naman insulto. Pero kasi hindi talaga ako mukhang 18 eh. Imagine, mukha raw akong mas matanda sa sister ko na 23 years old na.) "Uhh, no. I'm a freshman. Well, technically. I transferred." "Really? So what school did you come from?" "UP Manila." "Wow naman, sinasamba ka pala! Anong course naman?" "Ehehe.. Dentistry." *sheepish smile* "Huh? Bakit anlayo naman? I mean, from a science-related course to an art-related course.. Maganda naman ang Dentistry diba?" "Um. It's a loong story. I guess it's just not for me." Basically, that's always how my conversations go, especially with so many friendly people here. Pero malamang kayo rin ay nagtataka kung bakit. So here goes. Actually, I really didn't plan on transferring. Promise to God. If I knew that I was gonna transfer, then I wouldn't have had summer classes. It's just that my friend Jonep was gonna apply, and I was enticed to do the same thing. I guess I just wanted to see if I was gonna get accepted or something. Mind you, I didn't tell my parents about it til I was dropping off my application forms, and it was by accident pa. Like I said, I wasn't really taking it that seriously coz part of me knew I wouldn't get in. Jonep and I applied in courses that had a low GWA requirement para shoo-in. In my case, I applied for Interior Design, Geography, Geology and Landscape Architecture. I got interviewed first in Geography, and I thought my interview was sablay. As in, the interviewer asked my why I chose that friggin' course, what I thing Geography was all about, what I planned to do after I graduate chorva. It was a good thing that Jonep got interviewed a couple of days before me so I had an idea on what to answer. I had fun in my interview in Interior Design. I was really at home, and spoke fluently and confidently. Actually, my essay and interview was pure bola, but they bought it. I didn't go to my Geology interview, tinamad na ako. Besides, I had to meet the dean of the College of Architecture at the same time so there. The dean is my dad's college friend. They've been barkada since God knows when. So my interview was more of a chikahan with both friends. My mom and I just sat there listening, pretending to be interested. Haha. But after the long updates, we finally came to business. I got interviewed by another professor, and this time, I was really at home. I answered everything easily. And unlike the other courses, the interviewer told me that I was accepted even before the interview ended. So there, I got accepted in all of the courses I applied in. It didn't really sink in til my mom texted me congratulations, asking me which course I would take. I was torn between Interior Design and Landscape. Pareho namang designing. Don't laugh, but what made me decide was the college buildings. Interior Design is under the College of Home Economics, this dilapidated building with the crappy office of the registrar. The College of Architecture, however, had two new buildings. So new, in fact, that it was still undergoing construction and will be first used this school year. But really, I'm glad I chose my course. I'm having a blast! More to come on what my course really is.. :) ************ Current LSS: Mojofly's Runaway Angel (...so you'd better come home soon..) Current Ouchiness: I left my wallet in his car.. I can't friggin use the library! |
