I guess that's why I kept planning my barkada's and my friends' outings in high school. It's not that I'm good at it. More often than not, the outings we've planned would be cancelled due to some circumstance (tinatamad and flat broke, most likely), but planning's fun. Especially when I imagine the outcome. So nobody's more surprised than I was when I went to a sort of roadtrip with my friend, Sith. Unplanned. Spontaneous. We did things upon impulse.
From UPM, we went to Tanza, Cavite (that's like the province part na ata), to Las Pinas, and back, with no money (not much anyway), and with no inkling of how to get there. Why Tanza? Coz Mark's there, with his classmates. Field work for PH. Magkabarkada si Sith and Mark (and I'm thinking you guys know my relationship with Mark), and a couple of Mark's classmates are Sith's Pahinungod friends. So there's our spontaneity. We had barely enough money, and thankfully, Sith and I weren't picky for our food. Simple things such as "bulok na pizza", as he lovingly calls the pizza being sold at the streets, and isaw makes him ravenous. Whenever we pass by some food place (simple isawan would do), he'd say, "hinahamon tayo Ouchie oh.." During the whole trip, we ate, lemme see.. halo-halo sprinkled with that small biscuits with frost on top, that milk powder that we so loved (and still love!) to suck from that small straw, tuknene (is this the quail egg? Or is it kwekkwek?) doused with various sauce -- all that in Cavite. Isaw, Chowking's mantao, 7-11's slurpee mixed with a couple of gulp flavors, and that crispy noodles, I forgot what it was called -- that's what we ate in Las Pinas. And in Manila, I opened a can of corned beef, and we bought an unsliced, really really fresh bread. Yummy no? All that in just one day. :) So what did we do? We did a lil bit of exploring in Tanza while Mark and the others were wrapping things up at the Kapitan's house -- people there were gawking at us (I have no idea why, we looked decent naman), but they were really friendly. We asked this manang how to get to the palayan, and she said we could go through her house to get there. We crossed the really big palayan and we just gazed at the beautiful sunset. Too bad we didn't bring a camera to capture the moment. Twas really serene. On the way home in the minibus, I suggested we go to my house since it was nearby. We got off Alabang-Zapote road, and from there, we just walked. Via car, my house from Alabang-Zapote road is 8 minutes. But it really didn't seem that far. We passed through the PhilAm park (the playground where I spent my kiddie days) without any lights. I swear, I started hallucinating shadows in the dark. It didn't help that both of us are duwag, and that we're freaked out by swings moving slowly without anyone sitting on it. And then we walked on. And we walked. And walked. We reached my house, and we walked on. And we went back to Alabang-Zapote road to eat. Then we went back to Manila to talk some more. Astig no? :D *************** Current LSS: Imago's Akap Current Ouchiness: Wala sha sa bday kooooooooooooh! |
